moreChronicle of an Announced Explosion: Four years ago, on the night of January 27th, a deafening noise froze the inhabitants of downtown Liège with terror. A gas explosion had reduced two buildings on Léopold Street to rubble. This catastrophe caused the death of 14 people and left around twenty injured. Immediately, numerous hypotheses were put forward: terrorist attack, gas suicide... But it is more likely that the tragedy was caused by a major gas leak caused by an accumulation of negligence. The authors of this "Investigation Duty", Françoise Berlaimont and Daniel Remi, will take you hour by hour through this night of madness with unprecedented and deeply moving testimonies from survivors and rescuers. The journalists also conducted their own investigation into an inquiry that has remained very secretive until today. Four years after the event, no charges have yet been brought, but our team has been able to review the expert report on this disaster. It highlights responsibilities and shows that this tragedy could have been avoided.
Harassed: Anne and Dorine are living a nightmare. For months, these two young women have been harassed by the same man. Anonymous calls, death threats, insults, and intimidation tactics punctuate the daily lives of these victims. Anne and Dorine have filed numerous complaints but don't feel like they are being heard by the justice system. Claire is enduring the same ordeal. Assaulted on numerous occasions, harassed by an ex-partner for years, she also feels like a victim of the slow pace of justice. Her assailant was indeed sentenced to 40 months in prison in the first instance two years ago, but he appealed. The lengthy and slow procedure plunges Claire deeper into despair every day. In this report, these three women trapped by their harassers have the strength to testify openly and confront their fears in the hope of finally being heard.

moreLiège, a Foretold Massacre: Could the massacre in Liège on December 13th, 2011 have been prevented? Exclusive footage uncovered by "Investigation Duty" suggests that the perpetrator of the shooting, Nordine AMRANI, may have been planning his crime for over a year. In this video, AMRANI is seen in prison celebrating an anniversary with his fellow inmates. Several times, he addresses the camera proclaiming, "keep these images well, one day they will be worth gold." With AMRANI's death, the investigation is closed, but the families of the victims are considering suing the Belgian state for not taking the danger of the assailant seriously.
Stéphane Bleus, the Banker of God: As an adolescent, Stéphane Bleus had announced to the parish priest, "one day I will be the treasurer of the Bank of Vatican." As an adult, he would have been trusted implicitly. But behind Stéphane Bleus's smooth manners lies a ruthless plunderer. His targets: the wealthy Catholic families of Belgium and Luxembourg. This former seminarian is seen in the company of Archbishop Léonard and the Apostolic Nuncio, instilling confidence in affluent families who entrust him with millions of euros. Bleus promises them fabulous returns, and it works. The initial depositors see their capital grow substantially within months. Through word of mouth, new clients flock to him. In reality, Bleus rewards his initial clients with the money from new investors. However, a few months ago, Bleus's system collapsed, and the scammer found himself behind bars. Today, the wonderboy of Belgian finance is penniless and must answer to the law. A sad end for one who aspired to become the banker of God.
Hellish Game in Namur: This investigation reveals how the notorious KHAIDA family, the kings of gambling, managed to take control of the casino in the tranquil and bourgeois city of Namur. A true story intertwined with fraud, corruption, and the political world, beginning with the casino fire in Namur in the 1980s. "Investigation Duty" exposes the mafia system that plagued the capital of Wallonia for years. A system where black money circulates, secret commissions are paid, and where tax officials and even a high-ranking official from the Belgian Ministry of Finance are involved. The icing on the cake of this big money affair is the appearance of the famous actor Alain Delon alongside the masters of the game ...

moreWith one year left before the statute of limitations, "Investigation Duty" dedicates an entire program to the bloodiest and most enigmatic criminal case in our judicial history. Who are the Brabant killers? Over thirty years after the first attacks, the justice system is still unable to put names to those known as the "mad killers". Are they predators or terrorists? Ordinary criminals or destabilised by occult forces? The motives of these men who murdered 28 people from 1982 to 1985 remain controversial.
No fewer than 6 successive investigating judges and dozens of investigators have pursued every lead, even the most improbable, without solving the mystery. But today, according to officials from the Brabant Wallon cell, the determination to find answers remains intact, and the latest investigations could lead to the truth coming to light. Is this genuine hope or just a smokescreen to hide a resounding failure?
Journalists from the legal magazine have investigated the investigation in the light of exclusive testimonies and documents. The final acts of the inquiry led by Judge Martine Michel will be dissected: extreme right-wing leads, Jean-Marie Tinck, manipulations by former investigators... "Investigation Duty" will also uncover neglected or forgotten leads in this case that continues to resurface and haunt everyone's minds, 30 years after the last crimes of the mad killers. Gérard ROGGE and Martine ERNST.
