According to the WHO, the European Commission, and the Belgian Minister of Telecom, it poses no danger to society. So why are so many people worried about its impact on our health and the planet?

Fires, perilous rescues, ambulance missions – we lived with them through their interventions from the inside. We saw the dangers, the risks, but also the dedication of the firefighters in serving the citizens. But above all, we discovered that they are literally killing themselves with their work. Toxic fumes, soot, and the stress of the job are causing them to develop early cancers and cardiovascular diseases.

moreNuclear power is fascinating. It fascinates because it produces half of all Belgian electricity with relatively few raw materials. Yet, nuclear power also raises concerns. It worries us because these raw materials are among the most dangerous on the planet. In Belgium, there is the equivalent of 5 Olympic swimming pools filled with long-lived radioactive waste. Some of these substances take up to a million years to become harmless. An eternity. For 60 years, we've been told that everything is under control. The burial of these wastes is touted as the only long-term solution, with funding for such an operation expected to be covered by the polluter-pays principle.
For the past 9 months, students have been forced to attend classes remotely. This unprecedented situation has caused suffering and inequalities. Reportedly, 60% of French-speaking students are experiencing partial or complete disengagement. However, in parallel, others have taken advantage of these circumstances. Some students have managed to bypass most of the anti-cheating software implemented by universities and colleges.
