Firefighters: Save or Perish Our team was able to follow the daily life of the Val de Sambre fire station in the province of Namur. Fires, perilous rescues, ambulance missions – we lived with them through their interventions from the inside. We saw the dangers, the risks, but also the dedication of the firefighters in serving the citizens. But above all, we discovered that they are literally killing themselves with their work. Toxic fumes, soot, and the stress of the job are causing them to develop early cancers and cardiovascular diseases.

The burial of these wastes is touted as the only long-term solution, with funding for such an operation expected to be covered by the polluter-pays principle.

Distance Learning: A Risky Bet
