Survivor: The Patricia Lefranc Story
Feature Docs
Pitch
In 2009, Patricia Lefranc was attacked with sulfuric acid by her former partner. Against all odds, she survived the unthinkable. Her body will forever bear the scars of this attempted femicide, but Patricia refuses to be defined by her attack. Behind the scars, there is a voice. In Survivor, Patricia looks back on the coercive control, the warning signs, the escalating violence, and the moment everything changed. Through her testimony—alongside those of loved ones, lawyers, and experts—the film offers a broader reflection on domestic abuse, its mechanisms, and how to prevent it. But the documentary also chronicles a fight: that of a woman transforming her trauma into public advocacy, notably campaigning against the unregulated sale of sulfuric acid. By intertwining her story with that of Tonia, another victim of the same man, Survivor brings to light the fatal flaws of the justice system.
