A youth in a slump
Year of Production
Feature Docs, People & Society
A youth that remains wise. A youth yet kicked out of bars, restaurants, and sometimes even parks. Off the streets, out of our sight, back to mom and dad's house, confined, sent back to those much-criticized screens. Between a sacrificed generation and heroes of resilience, this film portrays a nuanced age group that fights on multiple fronts: fighting against their own demons, depression and anxiety that arise with insomnia. Fighting for a fairer world, where the most precarious are taken care of, those who are left behind by the crisis...
The film crew immerses us in the experience of young people during this year of lockdowns and deconfinement: remote learning, end of small jobs, return to parents' homes, separation from loved ones, dreams collapsing... More than a year later, we still have to be patient and make one last effort. A year holding our breath, waiting for "the return to normal."
If a good adult is first and foremost an adult who has had the opportunity to test themselves, this documentary asks: how are our young people doing today when everything is forbidden to them?
After meeting more than fifty of them since December 2020, this film portrays ten of them, aged between 18 and 25.
