Steadfastly committed to the project initiated by Eugène Ysaÿe and Queen Elisabeth, the Queen Elisabeth Competition seeks to discover complete artists; it owes its reputation to a prestigious jury, strict rules, and unparalleled media coverage, as well as to the friendly and enthusiastic hospitality offered by an entire country and its Royal Family. For the finalists, one of the highlights of the Competition is their stay at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, which offers them an opportunity to spend a whole week studying, without any external assistance, a new work to be performed with an orchestra.

For the past decade, South Korea has been increasingly present in the field of Western classical music. This progress is particularly noticeable in international music competitions. For example, in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, over the past three years, Koreans represented a quarter of the participants in the first round. In 2010, there were five Koreans among the twelve finalists, and in 2011, for the first time in the history of this competition, a Korean, Hong Haeran, finished in first place. But over the past four years, Koreans have also won the Maria Callas Grand Prix, the Long Thibaud Crespin Competition, the Tchaikovsky Competition, and many other prestigious competitions. Why are young Koreans attracted to classical music, and where do they learn it? Why have they become so accomplished in such a short time? The film explores, in four stages, the rise of Korean musicians: training in Seoul from early musical awakening to the perfect mastery of the instrument, learning expressiveness through contact with great Western masters at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, the spirit of competition revealed behind the scenes of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and finally, recognition in the international music profession on the stage of the Royal Theatre de la Monnaie.

The Thomas Organ Manufacture, located in Ster Francorchamps, currently employs 17 people and handles all stages of organ construction or restoration: keyboards, casings, sculptures, soundboards, bellows, mechanics, wooden and tin pipes, and harmonization. Over the course of 45 years, more than 130 new instruments have been crafted in these workshops. The company has also undertaken approximately 40 restorations of organs from the 18th and 19th centuries. The organ of the Monaco Cathedral, whose restoration was entrusted to Dominique Thomas, was originally built in the 1970s by Jean-Loup Boisseau. It is a 5-manual instrument of excellent sound quality. During the restoration work, 60% of the existing pipes were preserved, but everything else is new.
